Dancing in Vercors, Méaudre Reel Book 2
"By the Fireside in Concourdan" was devised in 2023 for the birthday of the Méaudre Reel’s oldest dancer, Régis.

written with Martin's help in 2023, as it would be sad that such a nice
waltz should be forgotten. Martin had learnt this lovely waltz as a
youngster when he joined the local Caledonian Society with his parents.
He always danced it with his wife Genevieve. This waltz was usually the
last dance

and Rowan's Visit
On the occasion of the 100th RSCDS anniversary (Royal Scottish Country Dance Society), Rowan, the RSCDS mascot , was given a big challenge: dancing around the world for 365 days! So, after travelling into many different countries and cities, such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, San Diego, San Francisco, Toronto, Buenos Aires, Basel, Geneva, Lisbon, Paris, Lyon.... Rowan arrived at our greatest pleasure in the Vercors, first in Méaudre and then in Lans en Vercors!
The children of the Méaudre Reel had the great privilege of presenting him at the traditional Chocolate Fondue in February, organized by the Tourist Office, and even dancing with him!

Dancing in Vercors, Méaudre Reel Book 1
During the Covid pandemic, the Méaudre Reel wanted to continue promoting SCD but what could we do to keep a link with all our dancers?
After spending 2 months keeping everyone busy with a cooking challenge (one Scottish recipe to cook per week), we were allowed, fortunately, to return to dancing in January 2021 .... but it was only for 3 weeks before a new lockdown came into place. What could we do then with our dancers?
To replace our SCD lessons, we organised 3 different ‘dancing' times from January to April 2021. One of those dancing times was a SCD workshop for the Méaudre Reel teenagers on Saturday mornings. The teenagers worked in teams to devise new dances. Once the dance was created on paper and, after washing hands thoroughly, we would dance it (wearing masks) to check that it could really be danced. They often had to go back to thinking and working on paper, then walk through again before dancing it one last time.
This book (purchase order) is the result of the SCD workshops with the Méaudre Reel teenagers. A few dances, created long before the pandemia, have also been added.
"C'est pour vous" is a dance devised by Célie (8 years old) and Maëlle (9 years old) who were bored during lunch time :
